Desktop Engineering Int'l Inc. and Phoenix AG, Inc. Form Alliance
May 1, 2004 - Phoenix AG, Inc., based in Monroe, Ohio, and Desktop Engineering Int'l Inc., (DEI) headquartered in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, announce an alliance to bring systems, engineering, and software to the manufacturing and service industries to help their customers achieve breakthrough results. Phoenix, a consulting firm specializing in throughput improvement via systems, training, & engineering solutions, and DEI, a provider of computer aided engineering consulting and software solutions, have successfully collaborated in the past. DEI developed AQP-Parts, the premier software tool in the automotive market for sheet metal formability data collection, analysis, reporting, and management, with input from the stamping industry, but with specialized engineering contributions from Phoenix. According to Phoenix president George Coates, "The automotive and steel industries continue to use Phoenix and AQP-Parts to advance the science of metal formability and to aid production stability." Dan Schiavello, President of DEI added, "The Phoenix-DEI alliance is accelerating the move from manual to automated formability systems in the sheet metal stamping industry, and expanding our breadth of services and capabilities." Here's how the alliance works: Phoenix with its experience in product design, process development, and production systems, will assist in implementing systems, training, and engineering solutions that propel customers to new levels of throughput and cost efficiency. Concurrently, DEI will employ its computer analysis tools and expertise to tackle the customer's complex engineering problems, and achieve designs with robust manufacturing capability. DEI will also develop and install computer-based support systems to sustain the solutions and help the customer drive continuous improvement.
